We are sad for the terrible loss of Chester Benington a few years ago because his voice was a representation from our youth, a voice of the generation from the late 90s. We, as the first millenials, saw the technology came from the streets into our houses, and with that we saw this new group called Linkin Park came into our lives with this new kind of rock that mixed rap and metal rock, a genre that we all loved.

Their first album, Hybrid Theory, was a masterpiece, almost every song in this album is filled with hard rock that you easily can use for training at your house or at the gym, or if you need some motivation, songs like runaway, by myself, points of authority, papercut, pushing me away, almost every song is so exciting that they are perfect for the release of anger, a sentiment that we all have in the adolescent period of our lives. In The End is probably the anthem from our childhood. I really love this album. Hybrid Theory is Linkin Park’s best album and no discussion about that is allowed.

[Download] Linkin Park last and final album: One More Light [Playlist]

The new, final and last album from Linkin Park does not have any rock in it, seems  and sounds like a teenager group of wannabes superstars. What happened to the rock stars heavily influenced by the metal? There was no more cruelty in the guitar riffs, no more screams in the singing of Chester, seems like they want to re-invent themselves, like the Transformers Saga, and in the trying they have become pop and empty music. The only that maintain the vibe is the rapper Mike Shinoda in Good Goodbye, the only remarkable song in the album that has the vibe of the good old times where they began with the rebel and energy that mixed the rock and hip hop back there on the 00’s. As the songs advanced i did not hear any scream from Chester, and just listened more and more pop, almost like Maroon 5. This new sound seem so american, so “produced” by machines, for the end of movies, for credit scenes, no guitars, no bass, just Chester and the sampling, no more Dj doing scratch, no more Mike Shinnoda raping.  With Sharp Edges they totally lost me. Is a weird end for one of the greatest and loved rock bands in history.

Since i remember, as a great sudamerican rocker i have always loved the music that Soda Stereo made, and then ethe Cerati career as a solo artist. This album, infinito, is a compilation of the best songs that he made in his career when he produced 5 albums, with tunes like Karaoke, Lago en el Cielo, Bocanada, Crimen and Rapto, it showed me with great tracks that he wrote great lyrics with which i felt very identified, like in Karaoke. The passing away from Cerati was very sad for all the Soda Stereo fans because Cerati was always there, bringing us new music, exploring new styles or just singing the old Soda Stereo’s songs. This compilation show you that his music will be remembered until infinity.
